Assignments
The Assignment activity in eClass provides a “dropbox” in which students can submit their work digitally. Through this activity, faculty can download a student’s assignment and provide detailed feedback all in one space. The Assignment activity also allows for the submission of a wide assortment of file types (e.g., Microsoft Office documents, media, etc.).
Using online assignment submissions for summative or formative assessment has many advantages. Some of them include:
- The ability to create a paperless classroom
- A more organized, sensitive, and efficient approach to digital submissions
- Secure and timely transmissions of student feedback
- Features for group submissions and assessment
- Tools for in-depth grading and analysis
- Additional controls to discourage and prevent academic dishonesty

When setting up or editing the assignment, set the ‘Notify graders about submissions’ dropdown to ‘Yes’.
Yes. Click on the assignment and then click ‘View all submissions’. Click the ‘Grade column’ and it will sort the submissions, with those already graded appearing at the top of the list.
Yes! In fact, it is a great way to create more connection between you and your student(s). Use the Poodll tools built in to the feature to record your feedback with audio or video.
